45 mins of yoga with a short guided meditation.
Donations welcome but never expected.
I hope you are having a wonderful start to the year. I am so happy to host a space for you, to explore and personalise your own yoga journey. I am so glad you are here.
As part of my next yoga certification, I am studying Restorative Yoga, where yoga poses are held for a minimum of 15-20 minutes.
It has many benefits including, recovery from injuries or stress on your joints, the calming of the nervous system, reducing your fight or flight reactions, weight loss, pain relief, better sleep, improved blood circulation and enhances you physically and mentally. And it really is accessible to all ages and abilities.
Restorative Yoga can creates a slowing down, a Yutori in your life. Are you sold yet ? See the offer below and try it for free.
Practicing Restorative Yoga is one way but there are others.
Yutori is allowing yourself spacious consciousness. To gently and quietly observe the now - on your own - quietly without judgement. It is a perfect way to de-escalate the stress you feel. But how can you do this?
Take a walk - there is nothing in the rules to say you have to be stationary. Just make sure you are doing it silently no music or podcasts.
Wake up earlier - even by 15 minutes and spend the time in quiet, drink your favorite tea or coffee look out of the window or just relax your gaze. You could even stay in bed those extra minutes eyes closed bring awareness to the beginning of your day. Gently monitor in your mind how you feel in your mind and body, how the room feels around you what you can hear, feel and smell.
Keep a Gratitude Journal - and write something in it every day even if it is just one sentence.
Set an alarm for a time of the day when you are usually least busy. At this time bring awareness to your breath and quietly observe your surroundings for at least ten minutes. Scheduling a time will keep you on track.
Grab a camera and find a place to record or photograph what is around you. Take a moment to observe before you capture the moment. No need to find the perfect shot sometimes the most common things become fascinating when observed with curiosity.
Go outside - in solitude, work in the garden or just take a walk around or take a seat outside. If the weather is bad find a quiet spot in the window.
Be curious - Take an everyday object and examine it as though you have never seen it before. As an example take a pencil. Touch the different textures of the nib, the unsharpened area, the eraser, turn it around it different light look at it from the top and the bottom.
Just sit in a comfortable place and breath gently.
Go back to bed - lay warm and comfortable in bed and take in the quiet.
It really can be as easy as this. Conscious spaciousness - Yutori - is a frame of mind.
