Happy June, Everyone,
It is time to hit the pause button and accept the Red Cat Yoga's invitation to a June Mindfulness Challenge.
The challenge is to take your yoga along with you off the mat and engage your mind and hit the pause button just once a day.
In the amount of time it takes to watch a TikTok, Facebook Reel or to scroll the latest tragic news release; you can clear your mind, reset your mood and change your mindset for a whole day.
Multiply that by a whole month of small mindful pauses and you may even be able to rewire your whole mindset. But let’s start with the small and work together one pause at a time.
Mindfulness is a practice just like yoga. In fact it is part of yoga it is the Dhyarana - the fifth limb of the eight limbs of yoga. Dhyarana is the practice of concentration and focusing on one thing. It is the ability to be still and undistracted. Let's use June to practice this skill together.
How will it work ? Well it starts with your commitment. Commit now to one moment a day. You could set an alarm to remind you? Or fix a moment each day to dedicate to this project. You could dedicate the time when you take your first sip of morning tea or coffee or you could find time just before you brush your teeth at night. Or another quiet moment.
The challenge is only for June - 30 mindful moments. Just one moment of commitment each day - one moment of pressing a pause button and taking yourself briefly away from your busy lives.
Together we will build one moment at a time for 30 days and see where that lands us ?
There are various ways to take part. I will be posting each mindful moment on Facebook so you can see it as you wake up - I will be also posting to a google document if you are not on social media.
You can also request an email each morning ? Just reply to this newsletter or email .
After a couple of days I will be starting a group chat where we can discuss our progress and challenges together. I so hope you accept this invitation.
If I can help you in any way with your mindfulness or yoga journey please let me know. Plus - $50 private lessons all of June.
